Rudraksha is the dried fruit fruit of the Rudraksha tree. Rudraksha trees are found in the Himalayan region, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Assam and Java.
Rudrakshas are generally found in four colours, viz, i) Red, ii) White, iii) Black & iv) Mixed.
Generally we can see only Rudrakshas in dark brown colour. White coloured Rudrakshas are found in Java and Cyclone.
Rudrakshas are of 38 types and are available in 21 faces. Normally Rudrakshas with 1 to 14 faces are available. 15 to 21 faces are very rare. One faced Rudraksha is very very rare and in in very high demand. It costs between Rs.1000 to Rs.10000.
Rudraksha bead or Rosary is used for offering prayer to God. Shiva bestows all his blessings on the user of Rudraksha Rosary. Rudraksha has to be purified before being used. On Monday before sunrise one should take bath and thereafter Rudraksha beads should be washed first in clean water and then in cow milk.
If it is possible to get Ganges water then it can be used instead of clean water for washing. Lit dhoop and hold the Rudraksha beads on the smoke eminating from the dhoop, for some time.
After reciting the Mantras for eleven times, as indicated against each type of Rudraksha one can wear by using a red thread.
1) One Faced Rudraksha:- It is ascribed to Lord Shiva. It is generally told that on this Rudraksha the figures of Shiva Linga, Serpent, Om, Trishul and other auspicious marks are found and the ones without these marks are marked to be duplicate. After wearing this type of Rudraksha, spiritual power and intuition reaches to a new height. The use of this Rudraksha in neck blesses the native with authority, power, wealth and all comforts of life. 2) Two Faced Rudraksha:- This Rudraksha represents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This helps one to concentrate his / her mind and increase in spiritual power. 3) Three Faced Rudraksha:- This Rudraksha represents fire (AGNI) and is used for avoiding bad luck and wealth and education. Mantra for Wearing: – OM REM HOOM HREEM HOOM OM
4) Four Faced Rudraksha:- This represents Lord Brahma. Use of this blesses the man with good health and wealth. It is believed that if one boil it in milk and tastes the milk for 20 days mind gets purified and removes all worries. Mantra for Wearing: – OM VAM KAM THAM HAM YEE
5) Five Faced Rudraksha:- This Rudraksha is used for pleasing Panch Brahma (FIVE BRAHMAS) and the use of this Rudraksha leads to the blessings of Lord Shiva in all walks of life. 6) Six Faced Rudraksha:- This Rudraksha represents Lord Karthik, who is also known as ‘SUBRAHMANYA’ son of Lord Shiva and the elder brother of Lord Ganesha. Male natives should use this Rudraksha in the right arm and the female natives in the left arm. Mainly used to attain siddhi, success in works that one undertakes and success in business. 7) Seven Faced Rudraksha:- This Rudraksha represents Sapta Rishis and help the wearer with wealth, respect and spiritual power. Wearing this type of Rudraksha are rarely found.
